Hemp oil is not only an important dietary component but also a significant remedy for skin problems. What is hemp oil, how is it obtained, and what are its benefits?
Thanks to its content of omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids, hemp oil is among the most valuable plant oils. These fatty acids belong to the group of essential fatty acids that the human body cannot produce on its own and must therefore be obtained through food.
Allergy sufferers will be pleased to know that hemp oil is hypoallergenic and helps maintain the ideal pH level of the skin.

A precious food
Hemp oil contains the ideal ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids, which are not commonly found in a standard diet. The body cannot produce them on its own, so they must be supplied through food.
Hemp oil can be used just like other oils, such as olive or sunflower oil. It is especially suitable for cold dishes to preserve its beneficial properties. It also contains a high amount of vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant, protecting cell membranes from damage caused by free radicals.
With its mild nutty flavor, hemp oil can be used in both sweet and savory dishes. It has a gentle and pleasant aroma. Its use is completely safe, as it contains no psychoactive substances and helps with various ailments.
Beneficial for skincare
This plant-based oil is well absorbed by the skin, leaving no greasy residue. Hemp oil harmonizes the condition of skin cells and balances the skin's pH. At the same time, it helps restore the natural protective microfilm, increasing the skin's resistance to harmful environmental influences. It is suitable even for sensitive and eczema-prone skin.
Hemp oil is particularly helpful for acne, atopic eczema, and psoriasis. It not only improves skin condition but also reduces itching. As a natural substance, it has no side effects and is safe for children.
In addition to the aforementioned skin issues, it also aids in treating burns and wound healing.
Hemp oil is also highly effective as a hair mask.
How to use Hemp Oil
According to nutrition experts, a healthy adult needs an average of 7 grams of linoleic acid per day, with recommendations going up to 10 grams daily. This corresponds to 50–60 grams of hemp seeds or 15–20 grams of hemp oil per day (1–2 tablespoons).
Since it is a cold-pressed virgin oil, it is mainly used for cold dishes such as salads, pasta, or as a seasoning for spreads and sauces. The oil should be stored in a cool, dark place and used within approximately 6 months for culinary purposes—after this period, it remains suitable for external use for another 3 months.
Using hemp oil externally is a great complementary therapy for patients with psoriasis, acne, or dry and irritated skin. It hydrates and softens the skin, promotes healing of scars and burns, and hemp oil-based ointments also help relieve back, muscle, and joint pain.
If you want an effective natural remedy at home, hemp oil is the perfect choice. It can be used both internally and externally by adults and children alike.
How is Hemp Oil made?
Hemp oil is produced by cold pressing hemp seeds. It has a pleasant nutty flavor and a deep green color, indicating its high chlorophyll content. Chlorophyll acts as an antioxidant in the human body, has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and strengthens the immune system.
Hemp seeds have an oil yield of about 30%, meaning that from 100 kg of seeds, approximately 30 liters of hemp oil can be pressed. The pressing process also produces so-called hemp seed cake, which serves as high-quality feed for livestock, such as horses and fish, or is finely ground into hemp flour. Hemp seed flour is gluten-free, making it suitable for people with celiac disease.
Cold-pressed hemp seed oil contains virtually no psychoactive substances. Hemp seeds from industrial hemp contain THC only in trace amounts, meaning they cannot have any drug-like effects.
Organic vs. Non-Organic Hemp Oil
In Cannadorra’s product range, you will find both organic and non-organic versions of hemp oil. The difference is not in quality or taste but rather in how the hemp is grown—organic hemp is cultivated under strict ecological farming conditions, whereas non-organic hemp is not.
This difference is reflected in the final price of the product, with non-organic hemp oil being significantly more affordable.
Comparison: Hemp Oil vs. other plant oils
A typical Western diet generally contains an excess of fats, particularly saturated fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids, which increase the risks of cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases, and even cancer. Replacing foods high in saturated fats (primarily meat and dairy products) with foods rich in essential fatty acids (such as cold-pressed plant oils) can help prevent and manage these diseases.
Due to its composition, hemp oil is considered optimal from this perspective.
