CBD quickly relieves depression!

CBD quickly relieves depression – this is confirmed by the latest research from a Spanish team of experts at the University of Cantabria in Santander. Their findings bring hopeful results for all cannabis enthusiasts suffering from depression (and not only them).
How does CBD work against depression?
CBD stimulates the brain center that produces the neurotransmitter serotonin (the happiness hormone), which stabilizes mood and creates a sense of mental well-being. Users are also better able to cope with stressful situations. In many cases, it works similarly to antidepressants or psychosomatic treatments.
How much CBD to take for depression?
If you decide to use CBD, we recommend starting with a small dose and gradually increasing it.
CBD drops are ideal for beginners, as they are very easy and precise to dose. We recommend starting with 20 mg of CBD per day, which corresponds to approximately 4 drops of 10% CBD oil or 2 CBD capsules.
How long does it take for CBD to affect depression?
Once you establish the correct dosage, the effect of CBD should be felt within about 3 days.
Can CBD be combined with antidepressants?
Combining medication and CBD is possible. However, we recommend leaving at least a 30-minute gap between doses, or consulting your physician about combining it with other medications.
If you're not currently taking antidepressants, remember that depression can often be managed without them.
Is CBD addictive?
No, CBD has no addictive properties and does not have any intoxicating effects. The World Health Organization (WHO) released a statement last year confirming that CBD has zero potential for addiction.
Research on CBD and depression
The study was conducted on animals, and according to the lead author, Dr. Raquel Linge, it was demonstrated in the brains of 40 animals that the non-psychoactive component of cannabis – cannabidiol (CBD) – can very quickly and effectively suppress symptoms of depression, which primarily include hyperactivity, impaired memory, and reduced desire for sugar as a reward for completing a task.
The first improvements were observed after just thirty minutes, and longer-term daily application of CBD led to the complete suppression of depressive symptoms, such as reduced need for sugar and impaired behavioral processes. Upon examining the ongoing chemical processes, it was found that cannabidiol stimulates the production of serotonin and glutamate.
The research results were published in the April edition of the scientific journal Neuropharmacology and confirmed the conclusions of previous studies, which found that cannabinoids found in cannabis can alleviate symptoms of depression and effectively replace synthetic antidepressants, whose common drawback is the presence of more or less serious side effects.
