The study included sixty participants aged 18-45, categorized according to the Dutch periodontal screening index. The methodology involved removing dental plaque from all participants and dividing each sample into two Petri dishes. Each dish was further divided into four parts, allowing for eight different testing locations per sample.
The eight substances tested for their ability to fight bacteria in dental plaque were:
- Cannabidiol (CBD)
- Cannabichromene (CBC)
- Cannabinol (CBN)
- Cannabigerol (CBG)
- Cannabigerolic Acid (CBGA)
- Oral B
- Colgate
- Cannabite F (a toothpaste made from pomegranate and seaweed)
After sealing and incubation, the number of bacterial colonies was counted. The results showed that cannabinoids are more effective than known oral preparations such as Colgate and Oral B.
