Benefits of Oil Pulling with Hemp Oil

You won't believe what happens after just a few minutes with hemp oil (or any cold-pressed oil) in your mouth!

Oil Pulling: An Ancient Ayurvedic Method

Oil pulling is a traditional Ayurvedic practice used to improve health by cleansing and detoxifying the body in a simple and gentle way. This technique involves swishing oil in your mouth for several minutes. Ayurveda, from Sanskrit, means "science of life."

How to Do Oil Pulling

The basis of oil pulling is swishing cold-pressed oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes. When I first started, I managed less than twelve minutes but gradually worked up to 20 minutes. I used hemp oil, which I also use for body care and salad dressing. However, you can use any oil you have at home.

  1. Start by putting 1 tablespoon of cold-pressed oil in your mouth.
  2. Swish the oil around your mouth, making sure to cover all areas, including under the tongue. Avoid gargling.
  3. Continue swishing for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Spit out the oil and rinse your mouth thoroughly.

Advantages of Oil Pulling

Oil pulling has numerous health benefits, including:

  • A brighter smile
  • Healthier gums
  • Prevention of bad breath
  • Increased energy
  • Reduced headaches
  • Cleansed cavities
  • Relief from allergic reactions
  • Improved sleep
  • Clearer skin
  • Regulated menstrual cycle

For best results, perform oil pulling in the morning after waking up, when the largest number of bacteria are in your mouth. Repeating the process in the evening is also beneficial.

Oil Pulling: Before and After

In Ayurveda, each part of the tongue is connected to internal organs. This simple and cost-effective method helps calm, cleanse, and activate essential meridians (energy pathways) in the body using cold-pressed oils like poppy, coconut, sunflower, or hemp oil.

Internal Organs and Meridians Activation

Active energy paths by hour:

  • 6:00 - 8:00: Colon meridian
  • 8:00 - 10:00: Stomach meridian
  • 10:00 - 12:00: Pancreatic and spleen meridian
  • 12:00 - 14:00: Heart meridian
  • 14:00 - 16:00: Small intestine meridian
  • 16:00 - 18:00: Bladder meridian
  • 18:00 - 20:00: Kidney meridian
  • 20:00 - 22:00: Blood circulation and genitals meridian
  • 22:00 - 24:00: Triple heating meridian
  • 0:00 - 2:00: Gallbladder meridian
  • 2:00 - 4:00: Liver meridian
  • 4:00 - 6:00: Lung meridian

For example, if you suffer from a bladder infection, the optimal time for oil pulling is between 16:00 and 18:00.
